  • Handling & Communication: Develop a simple handling system, ensuring your dog understands directional cues.
  • Safety & Confidence: Build your dog’s trust and coordination by practicing low-impact exercises.
  • Foundation for Advancement: Prepares you for more complex sequences in higher-level classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the agility field to run my dog around?2025-02-11T19:10:10-06:00

The agility field can be rented out for $15 by current Advanced Agility students, handlers who are currently showing in agility or have experience showing in agility, or who are approved by the Instructor. If you have interest in Agility, please give us a call and we would be more than happy to help you.

Can kids run a dog in agility?2025-02-10T07:26:09-06:00

A: Absolutely! We encourage kids, or Junior Handlers, to participate in this fun-filled sport as long as they can control the dog they are working with.

Why do I have to wait until my dog is 12 months old?2025-02-10T07:25:45-06:00

A: Puppies are still growing up until that time and we want to make sure that their bones are set. This is for the health and safety of the puppy. We would hate to have a puppy injure themselves at such a young age.

Can any dog do agility?2025-02-10T07:25:30-06:00

A: YES! As long as your dog doesn’t have any disabilities that could put them in harms way. Agility is an all dog sport and breeds of all sizes and ages participate!

Why does my dog have to have obedience training before we can take agility class? I’m really only interested in agility.2025-02-10T07:25:14-06:00

We totally understand your enthusiasm for agility! It looks like so much fun, right? But in order for your dog to “get” agility, he must have a solid foundation in obedience.
