Overview

Your dog already knows the basics—now it’s time to raise the bar. Intermediate Agility is designed for dogs and handlers who’ve mastered foundational obstacles and handling techniques in a Beginner Agility program (or have equivalent experience). We’ll build on those skills with more complex courses, sharper turns, and advanced problem-solving to help you both excel in this exhilarating sport.

What to Expect

  • Expanded Obstacle Work

    • Continue practicing jumps, tunnels, and weave poles while introducing or refining contact equipment like the A-frame and teeter.
    • Emphasis on proper form and confidence-building across each obstacle.
  • Handling & Sequencing

    • Develop tighter turns, front/rear crosses, and better obstacle discrimination.
    • Work with increased speed while maintaining accuracy.
  • Team Coordination

    • Strengthen your cue timing and your dog’s responsiveness, ensuring clear communication on course.
    • Build trust and focus under moderate distractions and new challenges.
  • Problem-Solving & Feedback

    • Instructors provide hands-on guidance and troubleshooting for any tricky spots.
    • Opportunity to run short, more complex sequences to test your progress each week.

Why does my dog have to have obedience training before we can take agility class? I’m really only interested in agility.2025-02-10T07:33:03-06:00

We totally understand your enthusiasm for agility! It looks like so much fun, right? But in order for your dog to “get” agility, he must have a solid foundation in obedience.
